Reading Center
All students are welcome to use the Reading Center. Improve your reading skills for school and work success!
Vistors to the Reading Center Can:
- Work one-on-one with an instructor to review for tests or increase comprehension strategies as they apply to college reading
- Learn to decode unfamiliar words
- Increase awareness of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills to improve performance in subject areas
- Learn strategies for speed reading
- Work with reading skills on the computer
- Develop attitudes of confidence and satisfaction with reading progress
- Become aware of reading strengths and weaknesses through a variety of formal and informal assessments
- Improve study skills and critical thinking skills
- Learn time management skills for organization and goal achievement
Reading Services
Individual instruction is available by appointment with a reading specialist. In addition, other services are offered such as reading diagnostic testing, speed reading instruction and textbook strategies.
